Surprise!!

We lost a hen about a month back, we had no idea where she had gone but couldn't find her and we looked EVERYWHERE!!
Well so we thought.....so imagine our surprise when we found her and 2 little chicks wandering around!!
We have now moved them into their own cadge to keep them safe.
The really amazing thing about these chicks is we had thought our rooster was to old to father anymore, hes aprox 13yrs old !! I wonder how old that is human years? Seems we were wrong these little checks are proof of that! Now to wait as see if they are boys or girls?

We decided in January we needed to get some bantam hens as our others weren't good mothers, these bantams were being given away on free cycle. We picked them up when they were aprox 8weeks old. They started laying in September and since then have spent more time clucky than not! Given they are first time sitters its been a bit of trial and error and storms throughout the area didn't help either. We had great our first arrival last month of just 1chick after some nasty storms while sitting we had given up hope of any so were excited when we saw this little one.....
we aren't sure what type this one is as the eggs were from a friend, so we will have to wait and see. This little chick just has the first feathers starting now, I'll update with a photo later.

It's a lazy Sunday here, a nice sleep in followed by some lounging around and computer time. I guess I should go get some of the outside jobs done since its now mid afternoon.
